I am a self taught artist living in Southern California. I paint in oils, acrylic and watercolors. I also work in ceramics, wood carving, sculpting and various forms of collage with paper and fabric. I would describe my artwork as eclectic surrealism. I never do the same piece twice. I paint from instinct and what has meaning to me at the time. Some ideas come to me in those moments right before I fall asleep. A picture pops into my head, and if it continues to hang on I’ll get up and quickly sketch it out. I create art that has meaning to me, that draws me in, and feels true to me.
I know it is easy to be labeled a certain type of artist: Realist; Surrealist; Political; Abstract etc. My artwork can’t be tied to just one of those labels. I like to create art in many different styles, because I enjoy them all.
